Since 2015, we’ve worked in Complexo da Penha—one of the most violent and marginalized favelas in Rio de Janeiro—alongside our longtime partner SCUB. Together, we’ve built a program focused on dismantling gender barriers in soccer by centering girls' participation and investing in strong female leadership. We’ve supported SCUB in accessing additional resources, including funding from Unilever Rexona, and co-delivered Play Like a Girl—a female-led storytelling initiative that spotlighted the experiences and voices of the program’s girls and women, both players and coaches. Through these efforts, we’re creating more inclusive and empowering pathways for girls in sport.
